Kingston Orchard Project

Kingston Orchard Project is an agroforestry initiative that involves communities in growing food using a range of traditional and experimental techniques. We raise a variety of perennial vegetables and herbs from seed and through propagation.

Fruits, berries and nuts are developed on trees and bushes using seedlings, cuttings and grafting. We cultivate edible fungi using spawn and tree root inoculation.

We follow the latest research in sustainable food production in all its aspects including the context of a changing climate. We emphasise the benefits of an innate diet, together with physical exercise in a natural setting, for the overall health and well-being of people who spend much of their time in an urban environment.

We hold regular working sessions in the orchard on Sundays 2 - 4pm (invitation only) and Open Days twice a year. We organise practical demonstrations and trainings for specific interest groups.
